dev etc credits
The dev etc was created by me, Jonathon Mah. I mocked up the design in Inkscape, then exported it to PNG and laid it out with CSS. This means I can potentially change the graphics to SVG when it becomes more widely supported.
The page background is inspired by Attraction, an image by David Lanham.
The “dev etc” text in the top-left is in ProFont, a great monospaced font. It's the best font for programming I've seen. It's pointless at such a large size, but I used it for sentimental reasons.
I must give a shout out to Vim, mainly by Bram Moolenaar. I can't imagine editing text without it. (Actually I can, but it makes me cringe.)
The green search icon is from sanscons by P.J. Onori. The external link icon is from the Monobook skin of MediaWiki.
The top nav bar is inspired by the search bar from Apple's iTunes and Mail applications. The mode bar — the bar that comes up when you're doing anything other than viewing a page — is from the Mac Finder's “burn folder” windows. These were converted into XHTML and CSS by me.
David Roundy's darcs was used to track the progress of the design as it was created.
